Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken a big step to address the provinces’ concerns over the population census by immediately ordering the implementation of funds.
According to the spokesperson of the Statistics Division, Sarwar Gondal, a sum of Rs. 12 billion has been allocated for the implementation of funds, which marks the second installment of funds for the provinces’ census arrangements.
Sarwar Gondal further explained that three different modes of funds have been allocated to the provinces for the population census.
Sindh has been allocated Rs. 928.9 million, Balochistan has been allocated Rs. 430 million, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been allocated Rs. 640 million, while Punjab will be allocated Rs. 1.88 billion.
The spokesperson of the Statistics Division, Sarwar Gondal, also stated that monitoring committees have been granted access to the monitoring dashboards.
