Islamabad: Aleem Dar’s long and storied journey as an umpire on the ICC’s Elite Panel has come to an end. The 54-year old has stepped down after officiating in a record 435 men’s Tests, ODIs and T20Is including four World Cup finals.
However, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif praised Aleem Dar for his outstanding services, saying that he has demonstrated excellent umpiring skills in all formats of international cricket, and through his impeccable umpiring, he has earned Pakistan a good name worldwide.
The Prime Minister expressed pride in Pakistan’s remarkable performance under Aleem Dar’s excellent umpiring.
