Islamabad: PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said that when the Iron Man comes out of jail, he will change the current judicial system.
Speaking in the National Assembly session, Barrister Gohar said, “We make laws and ourselves get exemption from them. Is there going to be a class in the country that is above the law? If Asif Zardari is accused of corruption, why can’t he appear in court and clear himself?”
He said that in a democratic system, constitutional amendments are always made by consensus, but here the post of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has been abolished. Now there is no “Chief Justice of Pakistan” to represent Pakistan in the world, as the name of the post has been changed to “Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.”
Barrister Gohar said that you decided to establish a constitutional court and gave the Prime Minister the authority to appoint its head. This amendment is a deadly poison for democracy. The amendment has been passed with only two votes. Such legislation cannot be in the interest of the people.
The PTI chairman added that your thinking and fear are worth considering; so intense is the fear that doors are being kept closed, meetings are being stopped, and there is even a fear of receiving a message. However, when Iron Man emerges from prison, he will transform this entire system and establish new principles of justice.
