Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Barrister Gohar, has stated that certain elements are deliberately attempting to create mistrust and distance between state institutions and the PTI. Speaking to the media after a joint parliamentary party meeting, he remarked that the recent incidents were unfortunate and should never have occurred.
According to him, some people are intentionally trying to escalate tensions because they wish to keep misunderstandings alive between PTI and the institutions.
Barrister Gohar made it clear that he has never rejected the idea of negotiations and remains firmly in favor of dialogue to resolve disputes. He stated that the PTI wants improvement in the current situation and believes that matters should be settled amicably through mutual understanding.
He further stated that PTI has always supported and respected the role of the institution, adding that it has been PTI’s consistent stance that a strong military is essential for Pakistan’s security and stability.
Earlier, Barrister Gohar had stated that the country cannot afford political chaos at this point. Referring to recent remarks, he said that when aggressive and confrontational language such as “aisi ki taisi” is used, then the situation may slip out of control and cannot be handled by a single side. He expressed disappointment over the recent press conference and said that anti-democratic forces want confrontation to intensify. He emphasized that instead of adopting the politics of “minus,” political forces should work collectively and focus on cooperation.
