PESHAWAR: The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has suggested holding elections in the province on October 8. In a letter addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner, he stated that the situation is not favorable.
The Governor’s letter has proposed a date for the elections in the province. He also mentioned that Punjab will hold elections on the same day, October 8. The elections in Punjab were postponed due to issues with the Punjab Election Commission.
The Governor mentioned that there has been a recent surge in terrorism in KPK. Several incidents of terrorism have been reported in various parts of the province, including North Waziristan. Security forces have also been targeted in some of these incidents, resulting in the death of a Brigade General and 7 young soldiers.
