Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that Pakistan is ready to host meaningful and result-oriented negotiations to help resolve the ongoing crisis, and it would be an honor for the country if both the United States and Iran agree to it.
He emphasized that dialogue is essential for ensuring peace and stability in the region and across the world, and Pakistan has consistently supported diplomatic solutions to conflicts.
The Prime Minister further said that Pakistan welcomes ongoing efforts to end the conflict in the Middle East and is prepared to facilitate comprehensive and meaningful talks, considering it a matter of pride.
It is worth noting that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during which both leaders agreed on continuing Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace.
Media reports also suggested that US Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Witkoff, and Jared Kushner may participate in potential talks in Islamabad next week.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Office spokesperson stated that Pakistan is fully prepared to host mediation efforts if the concerned parties are willing.
