A significant development has emerged in the £190 million case, as the Islamabad High Court has scheduled the suspension of sentence pleas filed by the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi for hearing.
According to the cause list issued by the registrar office of the Islamabad High Court for March 31, Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif will hear the case.
It is worth noting that the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi had filed petitions seeking suspension of sentences awarded by the accountability court, which are now set to be heard.
Meanwhile, the National Accountability Bureau has raised objections regarding the maintainability of these petitions, which is likely to be addressed during the proceedings.
Earlier, on January 17, 2025, the accountability court had sentenced the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi in the £190 million case, and the matter is now under legal review in the Islamabad High Court.
