The European Union has accused Russia of supporting Iran in the ongoing Middle East conflict to target US forces and interests, raising concerns about escalating tensions in the region.
The EU foreign policy chief stated that Russia is providing Iran with intelligence as well as drone support, enabling it to strike US targets and other locations in the region.
She added that if the United States seeks to end the conflict in the Middle East, it must pressure Russia to stop assisting Iran, as such support is further complicating the situation.
The foreign policy chief also said the issue will be raised with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting to discuss a coordinated response.
