Tehran: The inside story of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran has emerged.
According to sources, Mohsin Naqvi conveyed a special message from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to the Iranian president.
Sources said that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also briefed President Masoud Pezeshkian on the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye.
Mohsin Naqvi had met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran a day earlier.
Following the meeting, President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran was ready to pave the way for greater cooperation with Pakistan.
Pezeshkian said that strengthening bilateral relations would help ensure mutual interests while also contributing to regional security and stability.
The Iranian president said stronger relations with Pakistan could contribute to enhanced regional security.
