The decision has been made to deploy the Pakistan Army in Punjab to ensure peace and security. The federal Ministry of Interior has granted approval for the deployment of the army in Punjab.
In order to deploy the army in Punjab, the Punjab Home Department has sent a request to the Ministry of Interior. According to sources in the department, the army has been requested to improve the law and order situation, and the request has been made under Article 245 of the Constitution.
The department sources further stated that the army has been requested for assistance in district administration. The Home Department has requested the deployment of 10 companies of the army in various districts of Punjab.
The sources also informed that the army will be deployed in Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and other districts.
