Lahore: Chief Justice of Lahore High Court stated that the court is making efforts and taking measures for the recovery of Imran Riaz in the abduction case, and I am praying for the safety of Imran Riaz’s life. May Allah keep him safe.
The Lahore High Court heard the petition for the recovery of Imran Riaz again, and the court approved the request for further extension for the recovery of Imran Riaz, as requested by the Inspector General of Punjab.
The Chief Justice of Lahore High Court inquired from the Inspector General of Punjab whether Imran Riaz has been recovered. To which the Inspector General of Punjab replied that they have not been successful in recovering Imran Riaz yet.
During the hearing, the Chief Justice asked if the Deputy Commissioner of Sialkot and the SHO who arrested Imran Riaz are present in court. The government lawyer informed that yes, all the court officers are present.
The Chief Justice addressed the Inspector General of Punjab and other officers, saying that if they fail to show efficiency, action will be taken against them. The Inspector General of Punjab replied that they have contacted police from all over the country but have no information. We have also contacted relevant agencies.
The Inspector General of Punjab stated that they are in contact with the Secretary of Interior and the Secretary of Defense, who will provide assistance. They further added that no agency reports to me directly.
Imran Riaz’s lawyer presented CCTV footage of the police raid on Imran Riaz’s house to the court. The Chief Justice of the High Court remarked that my main focus now is to recover Imran Riaz. I am praying for the safety of Imran Riaz’s life.
The Chief Justice of the High Court made further remarks, saying that God forbid, if anything happens to Imran Riaz, I will take action against all of them. I have all the records with me. It is clear that if anything happens to Imran Riaz, all these officers will be held responsible.
