Army Chief General Asim Munir has expressed deep sorrow over recent attacks on military installations, memorials, and martyrs, calling them highly regrettable.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a ceremony was held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi to honor the martyrs and veterans, where Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir commended the bravery and outstanding services of the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army during operations. They were honored with military accolades.
A total of 51 officers were awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), 22 officers and soldiers were awarded the Tamgha-e-Basalat (Medal of Good Conduct), and 2 soldiers were honored with the United Nations’ special medal.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior officers of the Pakistan Army and the families of the martyrs.
On this occasion, Army Chief General Asim Munir said that undoubtedly, we are living a peaceful life in a free atmosphere due to the sacrifice and great sacrifices of the martyrs.
General Asim Munir said that the sacrifices of the martyrs and the services of the veterans are our precious assets and a source of pride for the Pakistan Army as an institution. We always remember every individual associated with us and their families, and this relationship is a matter of honor and exemplary devotion.
The Army Chief said that every soldier and officer of the Pakistan Armed Forces, surpassing all regional, linguistic, and political biases and privileges, only and solely prioritizes their duties and responsibilities.
