Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced that in the coming year’s budget, one lakh laptops will be distributed. He stated, “If I have my way, I will not give just one lakh laptops but one crore laptops to the children of the nation.”
A laptop distribution ceremony was organized at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad, where laptops were distributed among students by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Addressing the audience at the ceremony, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said, “Today, as I look at the documentary, I remember the day when we distributed laptops in large numbers in the past. When I was the Chief Minister of Punjab, I used to provide scholarships to millions of children.”
Shahbaz Sharif expressed that today many children are serving Pakistan as doctors and engineers. He asked a girl where she is from, and she replied, “I am from Chakwal.” She further revealed that her parents passed away, and she has four siblings. When he asked about her plans for the future, she confidently replied that she wants to become a doctor and serve humanity.
The Prime Minister said that the progress and happiness of the nation are in your hands. You are the guarantee of our bright future. I am giving laptops to the youth, not Kalashnikovs. For the people, it will be a machine, but for me, it is a mission. Do whatever it takes, even if it means cutting your own stomach; laptops must be given to millions of children.
He emphasized that if my bus is successful, I will not give just one lakh laptops but one crore laptops to the children of the nation. These laptops were very useful for students during the time of the coronavirus.
Shahbaz Sharif mentioned that without any recommendation, one lakh new laptops will be distributed next year. One lakh laptops will be provided in the merit list, and an additional one lakh laptops have been included in the new fiscal budget. These laptops will only be available through the merit system and not through any recommendations.
