Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) spokesperson Hafiz Hamdullah has said that the people want timely elections and we also do not want to delay the elections.
During a media interaction, he stated that if assemblies are dissolved at the appropriate time, elections can be held within 90 days. The responsibility of conducting the population census and delimitations lies with the PTI government.
Hafiz Hamdullah pointed out that if this matter had been resolved earlier, it would not have become an issue now. However, if the approval for the population census is granted, it will still take four to five months for the delimitation process.
Hafiz Hamdullah further said that there was no formal discussion between the PDM and the coalition parties regarding whether to hold elections on the new census or on the old constituencies. Now 8 days left, how to solve the battle of new and old constituencies.
