Sugar has become expensive in Peshawar, sugar is being sold at Rs 160 per kg. Dealers have indicated the possibility of further increases in sugar prices.
In the wholesale market, the price of sugar per kg has increased by Rs 13, after which the price per kg in the wholesale market has increased to Rs 146 per kg. While retail sugar is being sold at Rs 160 per kg.
A 50 kg bag of sugar has increased by Rs 650 in 4 days, dealers say that the dealers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are not being supplied with sufficient quantity of sugar, the prices have increased due to smuggling of sugar to Afghanistan.
Dealers have expressed the possibility of further increase in sugar prices.
