In the first match of the Pakistan-Afghan One-Day International (ODI) series played in Sri Lanka, the Pakistan cricket team has won the toss and decided to bat first.
The first match of the three ODI series is being played in Hambantota, Sri Lanka, where Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and invited the Afghan team to bowl.
After winning the toss, Babar Azam said that he will increase the pressure on Afghanistan by scoring well.
The second match of the Pak-Afghan ODI series will also be played on August 24 in Hambantota, while the third and final match will be played on August 26 in Colombo.
Afghanistan cricket team’s middle-order Betrinjeeb Zadran has been ruled out of the team after suffering from a knee injury.
According to the Afghan Cricket Board, Shahidullah Kamal has been included in the squad instead of Najeeb Zardan.
It should be noted that the success in this series against Afghanistan will bring the Green Shirts back to the number one position in ODI cricket.
