Sugar prices continue to rise in various cities of the country including Karachi and Lahore. Shopkeepers are worried about the rise in sugar prices as citizens have reduced their consumption of sugar.
In Karachi’s wholesale sugar market, the price of sugar per kilogram has reached Rs 174, and in market it is being sold for Rs 200 kg.
Shopkeepers are worried due to the increase in sugar prices because city residents have reduced their sugar consumption.
During the past week, the price of sugar per kilogram has increased by 8 to 10 rupees. Currently, sugar is being sold at 174 rupees per kg in the wholesale market, and as a result, it has become more expensive in the retail market as well.
In Lahore too, the price of sugar is increasing day by day, in some places it is being sold for 176 rupees per kg and in some places it is being sold for 190 rupees.
Even after the double century in many cities, the increase in sugar prices could not be stopped. Last day in Quetta, one kg of sugar increased by 15 rupees, today it has increased by 15 rupees.
The price per kg has reached 220 rupees. The price of sugar has increased by 40 rupees in four days while Chaman is ahead of Quetta where sugar is being sold for 230 rupees per kg.
