Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman and former Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has stated that even today, Pakistan faces numerous challenges due to Imran Khan and international institutions, But just locking up Imran Khan did not solve all the problems of the country.
During a press conference in Okara district of Punjab, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari remarked that when the people of Okara came out for the Pakistan Peoples Party, it became evident why Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto used to refer to Okara as “Mini Larkana.”
He stated that due to public support, the movement of no-confidence against former selected Prime Minister Imran Khan succeeded.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari clarified that it’s not that by simply locking up Imran Khan, we have solved all of the country’s issues. Even today, Pakistan faces various challenges due to Imran Khan and international institutions.
He emphasized that only the Pakistan Peoples Party can extricate the country from economic and political crises, as it is the only party capable of finding solutions according to today’s challenges.
He stated that whether it’s a parliamentary session, a United Nations session, or a meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) board, the Pakistan Peoples Party will ensure that the weight of any decision does not burden the people.
The PPP Chairman said that in 2009, when economic responsibility was entrusted, and the government was in the hands of the PPP, there was an economic crisis, an inflation tsunami, and global market downturn. However, at that time, it was the Pakistan Peoples Party that initiated a revolutionary program like the Benazir Income Support Program. It was the PPP that understood the country’s crises and said that alongside ending the economic crisis, we need to revive the fallen economy.
