In a hearing at the court regarding the request for permission to talk to PTI Chairman’s sons over the phone under the Official Secrets Act, Judge Abul Hassanat Zulqarnain presided, with lawyers Shiraz Ahmed Ranjha and Alimah Khan presenting.
Judge Abul Hassanat Zulqarnain remarked that there are guidelines in place that do not permit the accused to converse. I will review the matter concerning telephone conversations as per jail manual guidelines.
Lawyer Shiraz Ahmed Ranjha took a position that the accused is not prohibited from having a telephone conversation with his family, according to the Prisoners’ Rules, it is allowed to meet his wife and children for 12 hours in prison.The accused are allowed to have a telephone conversation.
