A switchyard breaker worth Rs 2 crore burst due to fire in 500 KV high transmission line of Kashmore Guddu power plant. There is a possibility of increase in load shedding due to reduction in power generation.
According to the details, there is no replacement breaker in the switch yard of 500 KV high transmission line of Guddu Powerplant. The exploded switchyard breaker is estimated to be worth Rs 2 crore.
Sources say that despite the passage of 18 hours, the repair work has not yet been started. Breaker repair or replacement may take up to 15 days.
Electricity supply from Guddu Thermal Power Plant to Muzaffargarh and Shikarpur One has been suspended. Due to the suspension of electricity supply, there will be a decrease in electricity production.
Sources said that there is a possibility of increase in load shedding due to reduction in power generation.
Power supply is still suspended in the 500 kV high transmission line.
Power is distributed from other power plants in the high transmission line. Power has been restored in 3 out of 5 high transmission lines of 500 kV.
