A unique record was set in India’s Maharaja Trophy T20 cricket match where the match was decided in 3 super overs instead of one. The match between Bengaluru Blasters and Hubli Tigers was tied in the allotted overs.
In response to the Hubli Tigers’ target of 164 runs, Bengaluru Blasters could only score 164 runs. If the match could not be decided by the first 2 super overs, the third super over had to be played.
In the first super over, both the teams could score 10, 10 runs, in the second super over, in response to Hubli Tigers’ target of 8 runs, Bengaluru also managed to score only 8 runs.
In the third super over, in response to Bengaluru’s 12 runs, Hubli Tigers won on the last ball, the record of 3 super overs in a match has been set for the first time in T20 cricket.
