Social networking site X has been completely banned in Brazil following court orders.
X’s website has been banned in Brazil for failing to meet a deadline set by a Supreme Court judge to name a new legal representative, according to the international news agency.
Supreme Court Justice Alexander D. Morris ordered the immediate and complete suspension of the social media platform. The judge ordered the suspension of dozens of X accounts for allegedly spreading false information.
According to media reports, the Brazilian court demanded X owner Elon Musk take action against those spreading fake news on the platform, but Musk refused to open an office in Brazil for this purpose.
After Elon Musk’s refusal, Brazil’s Supreme Court issued an order to immediately shut down X’s services across the country.
It should be noted that according to a survey, there are more than 22 million X users in Brazil.
