LAHORE: Former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has said that Pakistan will have to become part of another IMF program soon after the International Monitoring Fund (IMF) program ends in June this year.
Miftah Ismail said that Pakistan will have to become part of an IMF program due to its dwindling foreign exchange reserves Because when the program ends in June, we probably won’t have more than $10 billion in reserves.
He said that for this reason we have to approach the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank for loans and also become part of another International Monetary Fund (IMF) program. In the near future we will have to be a part of 2 IMF programs one after the other due to debt repayment of about 20 billion dollars.
