Rawalpindi: Awami Muslim League chief and former Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has been released from Adiala Jail as per the order of Islamabad High Court.
Sheikh Rasheed’s lawyer argued that the bail is a post-arrest application. The Additional Sessions Judge dismissed the bail on the basis of an allegation, on which the court inquired as to what the allegation was.
Lawyer Salman Akram Raja told the court that the statement was shown on the news channel, based on which a case was registered and Sheikh Rasheed is currently in jail on judicial remand.
The investigating officer told the court that the details of Sheikh Rashid’s statement were obtained from the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), the evidence of Asif Ali Zardari’s alleged conspiracy against Imran Khan was not found by Sheikh Rashid.
