Karachi: Two motorcyclists were killed, and a third was injured when a speeding car hit them on Shaheed Millat Road, causing them to fall and get crushed by a water tanker.
According to details, the motorcyclists, who fell after being hit by a speeding car on Shaheed Millat Road, were run over by a tanker, resulting in two fatalities and one injury. The injured person was rushed to the hospital.
Rescue officials identified the deceased as 57-year-old Syed Noman and 49-year-old Israr, while the identity of the 30-year-old injured person remains unknown.
Traffic police reported that the speeding car hit the motorcyclists, causing them to fall on the road, and a water tanker, coming from behind, ran over them. The tanker dragged the front part of the motorcycle for 100 meters.
According to police authorities, enraged individuals set the tanker on fire, and the driver of the tanker fled the scene. However, the cleaner inside the tanker has been taken into custody.
Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori expressed concern over the death of two young men due to the tanker incident on Shaheed Millat Road in Karachi and requested a report from the IG of Sindh Police.
The Governor of Sindh instructed the relevant authorities to take strong action against the tanker mafia, stating that the tanker trucks are spreading death in Karachi, the economic hub of the country, which is a matter of great concern.
