Saudi Arabia has issued new travel guidelines for pilgrims holding Umrah and visit visas.
The guidelines make the meningitis (neck-breaking fever) vaccination mandatory for travelers. The Saudi government has emphasized the strict enforcement of these health measures. The new vaccination guidelines are available on the Saudi Ministry of Health’s website.
The Saudi Civil Aviation has instructed that all airlines must ensure that their passengers traveling to Saudi Arabia receive the meningitis vaccine, along with other required vaccines.
The vaccination certificate must be issued at least ten days before travel. According to the guidelines, children aged one year or younger are exempt from the meningitis vaccine. The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority has stated that airlines and travelers who do not comply with these orders will face legal action.
