The Government of Sindh has decided to auction off idle vehicles within a month and purchase electric vehicles (EVs) for government employees.
A subcommittee meeting of the Sindh cabinet, chaired by Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Memon, was held with the participation of provincial ministers and secretaries from various departments.
Sharjeel Inam Memon instructed that guidelines for vehicle allocation be strictly followed. He emphasized that the auction process must be completed within a month, noting that purchasing EVs would benefit the government through fuel savings and make the auction process simpler.
The provincial minister stated that the government is committed to transparency in the use of public resources. He also urged unauthorized individuals to return official vehicles as per government directives.
Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani remarked that timely auction of unused vehicles is extremely important.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar said that their primary goal is to save public funds and ensure transparency in government expenditures.
During the meeting, secretaries of various departments presented a ten-year record of government vehicles.
