Defending champions Islamabad United have suffered a major setback ahead of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The three-time champions, Islamabad United, had partially included Australian cricketer Alex Carey as a replacement for South African batter Rassie van der Dussen in the replacement draft.
However, just hours before the tournament’s start, Carey also withdrew from the event because his domestic team had qualified for the final in Australian domestic cricket.
The franchise has yet to announce the name of any foreign player as his replacement.
Meanwhile, Islamabad United will face the challenge of Lahore Qalandars in today’s opening match.
