CHHATARPUR – A wedding ceremony in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh turned into a heartbreaking scene when the groom refused to bring the wedding procession at the last moment.
According to Indian media, the evening of May 15 was filled with joy at the bride’s home — music was playing, the mehndi ceremony was ongoing, and the bride sat with dreams of a new life in her eyes.
A large number of guests were present, and the bride, fully dressed, sat on stage awaiting her groom, but he never arrived.
As time passed, anxiety spread among the attendees. When the bride’s family contacted the groom, he bluntly responded, “We are not bringing the procession.”
Still hopeful, the bride called the groom herself, only to be told, “My work is done. I will not bring the procession.”
Tears welled up in the bride’s eyes as guests began to leave silently. It was later revealed that the bride and groom had been friends for the past six months, and both families had agreed to the marriage — yet the groom refused without any explanation.
The distraught bride filed a complaint at the local police station, prompting authorities to begin an investigation and assure legal action.
