In the case of the youth assaulted in Karachi’s Defence area, the main accused, Salman Faruqi, has been granted bail by the Sindh High Court. The court also ordered the submission of surety bonds worth one lakh rupees each.
According to details, the Sindh High Court heard the bail petitions of Salman Faruqi and Owais Hashmi. The court approved the bail for both accused and directed each of them to submit a surety of one lakh rupees.
During the hearing, lawyer Sudheer Dheeraj informed the court that the complainant had no objection to the accused being granted bail. The public prosecutor also agreed with this stance.
It is worth noting that the case was registered at the Gizri Police Station, and the incident’s video went viral on social media. In the footage, a motorcyclist named Sudheer was seen being assaulted and verbally abused by a car driver in the presence of his sister. The accused threatened to kill the youth, misbehaved with women, and humiliated them in front of a crowd.
However, later in court, the victim pardoned Salman Faruqi and stated that he did not wish to pursue any legal action. He expressed no objection to any decision made by the court. Upon inquiry, the court asked if the youth was under any pressure, to which he responded that he was pardoning the accused of his own free will.
