Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued directives for several critical and immediate actions during his visit to the FIA Karachi Zone.
The meeting decided to launch strict actions against hawala hundi operations, the beggar mafia, fake medicines, non-custom goods, and passengers carrying more than five thousand dollars abroad.
Mohsin Naqvi directed that an effective and result-oriented crackdown be launched against the hawala hundi mafia and that the major culprits involved in this network be brought to justice. He emphasized that no political or influential pressure should be tolerated and that action must be taken indiscriminately against the mafia.
The Interior Minister also ordered strict action against agents involved in sending beggars abroad who damage Pakistan’s image. He said such individuals should be brought under the law and made an example. He added that absconding agents should be arrested with the cooperation of other provinces, and there must be visible and effective action against them.
Criticizing the illicit trade of fake medicines in strong terms, Mohsin Naqvi stated that those involved in this business would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He said the rightful place for those selling fake medicines is jail, and they should be dealt with an iron hand.
Regarding the smuggling of non-custom goods, the Interior Minister took serious notice and instructed the FIA to take full action, stating that those harming the national economy must be caught without any leniency.
In the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi also ordered action against passengers carrying more than five thousand dollars abroad and directed the FIA to take immediate and strict legal action in all such cases.
On this occasion, FIA Karachi Zone Director Nauman Siddiq gave a detailed briefing to the Federal Interior Minister, highlighting ongoing operations, current challenges, and future strategies.
The recent visit by the Federal Interior Minister sends a clear message that the state is now taking organized crime, financial corruption, and elements harming Pakistan’s dignity very seriously.
