In several parts of Balochistan, mobile internet services have been suspended for the past week, resulting in significant disruptions to daily life. Residents say the prolonged outage has severely affected education, business, and communication channels.
According to the spokesperson for the Balochistan government, mobile data internet enables terrorist organizations to communicate easily. In light of recent terrorist incidents and security concerns, the provincial government decided to suspend mobile internet services across the region. The spokesperson added that the restriction will remain in place throughout August to minimize potential threats.
Officials from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) stated that mobile internet services have been suspended indefinitely in several districts of Balochistan, including Kohlu, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Loralai, Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Nushki, and Harnai.
On the other hand, residents complain that the shutdown has prevented students from attending online classes and participating in digital learning. Freelancers and online business owners have also suffered severe financial losses and mental stress, while ordinary citizens face difficulty in maintaining timely communication with family and friends.
