A video has surfaced showing Karachi-based journalist Khawar Hussain just moments before his death in Sanghar, raising further questions around the mysterious circumstances of the incident.
According to details, his body was found inside his car on Hyderabad Road in Sanghar. Police officials said that preliminary findings suggest the case appears to be a suicide, as the bullet wound on his head was from his own licensed pistol. The car windows were closed, and authorities have collected fingerprints, CCTV footage, and other evidence from the scene.
The investigation revealed that before his death, Khawar Hussain visited a restaurant twice. CCTV footage shows him parking his car, entering the restaurant, returning, and sitting back in his vehicle. However, eyewitnesses confirmed that while they saw him moving in and out of the restaurant, none of them heard gunshots.
Police stated that a high-level committee has been formed to probe the journalist’s mysterious death. The committee will be led by Additional IG CTD Azaad Khan and has been tasked with submitting an initial report to the IG Sindh within two days.
Meanwhile, Khawar Hussain’s body has been shifted to a Hyderabad morgue for further investigation and a complete post-mortem examination. His weapon and vehicle have also been sent for forensic testing to uncover the facts.
