An emergency monitoring cell will guarantee 24-hour water flow monitoring at the province’s main barrages. The Flood Emergency Control Room is now open around the clock per the directives of Chief Minister Sindh, and the Chief Secretary’s office has a fully functional control unit.
According to the irrigation department figures, the Guddu Barrage’s water inflow was 322,819 cusecs, and its water outflow was 307,956 cusecs. At Sukkur Barrage, the inflow and outflow are 252,110 and 303,480 cusecs, respectively. At the same time, Kotri Barrage has recorded an inflow of 273,844 cusec and an outflow of 244,739 cusec.
The control room, which maintains constant communication with district administrations, is manned by representatives from the Irrigation Department, PDMA, Health, and Livestock. Relief efforts are continuing, impacted families are being relocated, and public complaints are being addressed immediately.
According to provincial focal person Zubair Channa, emergency supplies and machinery have already been sent to 102 vulnerable locations throughout Sindh. He went on to say that floodwaters were flowing quickly toward Guddu Barrage at Trimmu and Panjnad, where water inflow and outflow reached 493,159 cusecs. It is estimated that between 40 and 50 percent of the vulnerable population might have to move to a relief camp.
For assistance related to flooding, helplines 021-99222967 and 021-99222758 have been activated. Authorities attested to the security of all protective embankments and the completion of emergency response plans.
Sukkur, Larkana, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Dadu, and Jamshoro are among the high-risk districts that are closely monitored. Between the Sukkur and Guddu barrages, 300 livestock camps and 515 relief camps have been established. There are 192 government boats and 272 relief boats—including military boats—available throughout Sindh. The Health Department has made sure that physicians and medications are available whenever you need them.
