A Lahore anti-terrorism court has granted bail to Sheer Shah, the son of Aleema Khan and nephew of PTI founder, in connection with the Jinnah House attack case. The decision came after the court heard arguments presented by the defense counsel.
During the proceedings, Sheer Shah’s lawyer argued that the case investigation has yet to be completed and no formal charge sheet has been filed against the accused. He stressed that it would be unconstitutional and unjust to keep an individual incarcerated indefinitely without trial.
The defense further maintained that no concrete evidence exists against Sheer Shah and that he was not involved in any violence, rioting, or vandalism. On this basis, the lawyer requested the court to grant his client bail.
It is worth mentioning that just a day earlier, the same anti-terrorism court in Lahore had also accepted the bail plea of Shahrez Khan, the nephew of PTI’s founder, in the same case. Shahrez was booked by Sarwar Road police in connection with the Jinnah House attack.
