Despite the unrest in Lahore, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the first qualifier of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans will be played according to the schedule.
A spokesperson for the PCB stated that the match between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans will take place today at 7 PM at the Gaddafi Stadium, and all preparations have been completed.
The spokesperson also said that they are in contact with the security authorities and the teams will arrive at the stadium at the designated time. The PCB has an alternative plan in case of any emergency situation.
Last night, all four teams canceled their practice sessions due to the unrest. Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans were scheduled to practice at the Gaddafi Stadium, while Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United were scheduled to train at the LCCA ground.
Teams staying at the private hotel on Mall Road in Lahore are being escorted by the police to the stadium, and there have also been intermittent clashes between them.
