New details have emerged regarding the attack on the Frontier Corps headquarters in the town of Nokundi, located in the Chagai district, confirming that a female suicide bomber was responsible for the incident reported on Sunday night.
According to the report, officials stated that the attack occurred at approximately 8:40 PM, when the woman detonated herself near the main FC headquarters. The suicide explosion was aimed at the paramilitary force’s key installation.
The banned Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for the attack and released a photograph of the alleged bomber, identifying her as Zainab Rafiq. Officials added that several other militants attempted to storm the compound during the attack.
Authorities reported that three militants were killed immediately as they tried to enter the fort-like installation, while others succeeded in breaching the outer perimeter of the compound before being engaged by FC personnel.
Although the compound was reportedly cleared during the night, residents said that intermittent gunfire continued until Monday evening, keeping the area on edge and heightening public anxiety.
