Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the 1320-megawatt Shanghai Electric Thar coal power project in Thar Parkar. Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that it is a pleasure that the Prime Minister is present in Thar.

The Prime Minister also said that the transmission lines would be installed here by April 30 and machinery was also being brought in. People say that electricity should not be produced on the basis of coal, but Allah has given us the gift of Thar coal deposits. There are coal deposits here for the next 100 years.
Speaking on the occasion, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said it was a joy to see the Prime Minister in Thar and the federal and provincial governments were working together on the project.
