Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a one-salary bonus for Christian employees on the occasion of Christmas, aimed at sharing in the festive celebrations and acknowledging the services of the minority community.
A Christmas ceremony was held at Alhamra Arts Council Lahore, where Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bukhari attended as the chief guest, with a large number of Christian employees participating in the event.
Provincial Information Minister Azma Bukhari distributed gifts among Christian employees on behalf of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and also cut a Christmas cake along with them, actively joining in the celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Azma Bukhari said that the government stands shoulder to shoulder with Christian brothers and sisters in their Christmas festivities. She added that minorities hold a very special place in the heart of the Punjab Chief Minister.
She further stated that Christian employees are a source of pride for the Punjab government and their services are highly commendable, adding that the Punjab government is utilizing all available resources for the protection, welfare, and well-being of minorities.
