According to the Global Economic Gallup Survey, Pakistan has outperformed India in terms of economic outlook and expectations for peace, reflecting a more positive public sentiment.
The Gallup survey indicates that at the beginning of 2026, Pakistan showed stronger performance in economic and peace-related indicators. The Global Economic Gallup Survey, conducted across 60 countries, revealed that Pakistan ranked ahead of both India and the global average.
The survey found that 51 percent of people in Pakistan are optimistic about the coming year, while overall, 31 percent of respondents expressed a positive outlook regarding the future.
According to the Global Economic Gallup Survey, 53 percent of Pakistanis view 2026 as a year of prosperity from an economic perspective. This level of optimism is significantly higher than India’s 39 percent and is also well above the global average of 24 percent.
The survey further reported that Pakistan performed better in terms of expectations for peace, with 52 percent of Pakistanis expressing hope that peace will increase globally. In contrast, only 26 percent of respondents in India shared the same expectation.
The Gallup survey noted that this level of optimism regarding peace in Pakistan is among the highest recorded since 1994, indicating a notable shift in public perception.
