The Bureau of Statistics has stated that Pakistan witnessed a significant increase in digital connectivity during the year 2024–2025, reflecting improved access to technology and digital services across the country.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, 96 percent of households in Pakistan now have access to mobile phones or smartphones, while more than 70 percent of households across the country are using the internet, indicating a strong upward trend in digital adoption.
The bureau reported that internet usage has more than doubled compared to 2019. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa emerged as the leading province in digital access with a rate of 77 percent, where individual internet usage increased from 17 percent to 57 percent.
The report further stated that 92 percent of people nationwide are using mobile phones. In urban areas, women were found to use the internet more than men, while overall, internet usage among women and men remains nearly equal at the national level.
The Bureau of Statistics added that digital awareness has improved across the country, online safety practices have strengthened, and digital skills have seen noticeable progress, highlighting positive developments in Pakistan’s digital landscape.
