In Karachi, following the issuance of e-challans through Safe City cameras, the process of issuing e-challans through a special mobile phone application is now being initiated, with police authorities accelerating practical steps in this regard.
According to police officials, a dedicated mobile application has been developed for this purpose, and trial operations are expected to begin soon to assess the effectiveness and accuracy of the system.
Officials stated that the application will be downloaded onto the personal mobile phones of authorized police officers in Karachi. During duty hours, if an officer observes any vehicle violating traffic rules within their designated area, the officer will capture an image using the application.
The authorities further explained that under the automated system, the captured image will be forwarded directly to the traffic police e-challaning officer, who will issue the e-challan for the violation, while the issued challan will also include the identification of the concerned police officer.
