Islamabad: Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar stated that Imran Khan is being provided food according to his preference in jail and that his health condition is completely fine. He said there is no negligence or irregularity in the facilities being provided.
While speaking in the National Assembly, the law minister said that the jail superintendent has the authority to decide meetings based on the conduct and circumstances of an inmate, and that the federal government does not have the power to issue directives to jail authorities in this regard.
Azam Nazeer Tarar added that a detailed report regarding Imran Khan has already been submitted to the Speaker of the National Assembly, stating that he is given food of his choice, provided with necessary facilities, is in satisfactory health, and is allowed to meet his wife every week.
He further said that under the jail manual, convicted individuals are not allowed to discuss political matters. He added that this issue falls between the court and the jail administration and that he will obtain a report on the matter and present it before the House.
