A major development has emerged in the case of the alleged gang rape of a girl while in police custody in Jacobabad, as the investigation against six police personnel involved in the incident has been handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The Jacobabad court has granted a two-day remand of the six officials to facilitate further investigation, allowing authorities to thoroughly examine all aspects of the case and establish the facts.
According to the SSP, two station house officers, Maqsood Sanjrani and Nawaz Brohi, have also been included in the investigation to ensure comprehensive accountability and determine responsibility at all levels.
It is worth noting that allegations were initially leveled against seven police personnel, including the SHO of Police Station RD-52 in Jacobabad. Following the incident, Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar took notice of the matter and ordered transparent and impartial investigations.
