An Azerbaijani company has officially announced its investment in Pakistan’s oil and gas sector, marking a significant development in attracting foreign investment to the country.
A business roundtable was held in Davos under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, with participation from chief executive officers and senior officials of leading global companies. The meeting focused on Pakistan’s reform agenda, investment opportunities, and future economic prospects.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb welcomed the Azerbaijani company’s decision to invest in Pakistan’s oil and gas sector and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the tax system.
The statement further noted that Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb also met with Bill Gates, during which both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in Pakistan’s health sector and institutional reforms.
The finance minister expressed appreciation for the Gates Foundation’s support in the digitalization of Pakistan’s tax system, stating that such initiatives would contribute to greater transparency and economic improvement.
