A small aircraft crashed in Colombia, killing all 15 people on board, authorities have confirmed. The tragic incident occurred near the country’s eastern border, prompting immediate rescue and investigation efforts.
According to foreign media reports, the aircraft carrying 15 people went missing in a mountainous area close to the Venezuelan border during the flight, leading aviation authorities to initiate a search operation.
Air traffic control officials said that contact with the flight traveling from Cucuta to Ocana was lost shortly before landing. A short time later, the crash of the aircraft was officially confirmed.
Officials stated that the plane was carrying 13 passengers, including a representative of the Colombian Congress, along with two crew members. All occupants were confirmed dead following the crash.
Authorities have cited adverse weather conditions as a possible cause of the accident, while further investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances behind the crash.
