A married couple was shot dead in Karachi for contracting a love marriage in a tragic incident that occurred in the Bhains Colony area. According to police, the bride’s father, along with his accomplices, opened fire on his daughter and son-in-law, resulting in their deaths, while a passerby was also injured after being caught in the crossfire.
Police stated that the couple had married by choice about a month ago and originally belonged to Thatta. Following the incident, panic spread in the area as law enforcement officials reached the scene, collected evidence, and initiated legal proceedings.
Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho took notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from concerned authorities, directing them to ensure swift action against those responsible.
Meanwhile, Sukhan police said that two suspects involved in the incident have been arrested. The suspects were apprehended within hours using technical surveillance and intelligence-based operations. Initial investigations revealed that the suspects carried out the firing along with accomplices due to personal enmity.
Police confirmed that a case has been registered under murder and other relevant sections, while raids are ongoing to arrest additional suspects, and further investigation is underway.
