Renowned pop singer Alamgir has expressed happiness over the restoration of relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh, saying that he had been waiting for this moment for many years. He described the development as a positive and encouraging step for both countries.
It is worth noting that after a gap of 14 years, direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh have been resumed, which is being seen as a clear sign of improving ties between the two nations.
Speaking to a private television channel, Alamgir said that he had long hoped for cordial relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh and was pleased to see this progress finally taking shape.
Alamgir said, “I may be Bengali, but I am also a patriotic Pakistani. Pakistan has given me immense love, respect, and recognition, for which I am always grateful.”
He also expressed happiness over the fact that even after 50 years, today’s young generation continues to hum and enjoy his songs, calling it a matter of pride for any artist.
Furthermore, Alamgir advised young singers to learn classical music to strengthen their musical foundation and to make use of modern technology alongside it, so that they can create timeless and memorable songs that leave a lasting impact.
