Details have emerged regarding the meeting between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan and his lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar at Adiala Jail, where key political and legal matters were discussed.
On the orders of the Islamabad High Court, Barrister Salman Safdar met Imran Khan in Adiala Jail for about an hour, and left without speaking to the media after the meeting.
According to sources, the PTI founder conveyed a message through Salman Safdar to cancel the planned rally, while he was also aware of Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts at the international level.
Sources said that Imran Khan directed the cancellation of the rally in view of the expected US-Iran talks, and the party’s political committee acted accordingly.
It is reported that the political committee had already decided to cancel the rally based on his instructions, while a government delegation approached later with a similar request.
Sources further stated that Imran Khan informed Salman Safdar about his health, saying that his affected eye has improved significantly, and he did not raise any complaints regarding prison facilities.
According to sources, Salman Safdar briefed Imran Khan on the appeal against the conviction in the £190 million reference, and legal consultation on pending cases was also completed.
