Belgium knocked hosts USA out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after securing a dominant 4-1 victory in the Round of 16.
The match was played in front of a packed stadium in Seattle, with the United States entering the game with high confidence and Balogun returning to the team after his red-card suspension was lifted.
Belgium responded strongly on the field after their appeal over the Balogun suspension issue was rejected.
Charles De Ketelaere scored twice for Belgium, while Hans Vanaken added the third goal in the 57th minute.
Romelu Lukaku scored Belgium’s fourth goal in injury time to complete a convincing victory.
Balogun featured for the United States following the removal of his suspension, while Tillman scored the hosts’ only goal.
With the victory, Belgium qualified for the quarter-finals, where they will face Spain.
